Materials Testing

The quality of a structure depends on the quality of the materials used to build it. Masatha's accredited materials testing laboratory provides independent, reliable testing of concrete, asphalt, steel, and construction materials delivering results that contractors, engineers, and project owners can trust and submit with confidence.

What we offer

Our concrete, asphalt, and steel laboratory is equipped to carry out a comprehensive range of construction material tests supporting quality assurance programs, government tender requirements, and on-site construction verification.

Concrete testing

Compressive strength testing of cubes and cores, slump testing, ultrasonic pulse velocity, rebound hammer, and cement mortar strength covering fresh and hardened concrete.

Steel & metal testing

Tensile, compression, bending, and shearing tests on metallic and non-metallic materials using our computerized electro-hydraulic universal testing machine up to 1,000 kN.

Non-destructive testing (NDT)

Ultrasonic detection of internal fractures, surface defects, and thickness measurement in concrete structures without the need for destructive sampling.

Asphalt testing

Non-nuclear electromagnetic density testing of asphalt pavement using the Troxler Pave Tracker, along with mix design verification and compaction assessment.

Core drilling & extraction

Diamond core drilling from existing concrete structures for strength verification, condition assessment, and compliance checking on completed works.

On-site QA/QC testing

Field-based materials testing during construction to verify compliance with project specifications, supporting contractor QA/QC programs and engineer oversight.

Our Approach

Sample receipt & registration

All samples are logged, labelled, and assigned a unique reference upon arrival maintaining full traceability from receipt to result.

Testing to standard

Tests are carried out in accordance with applicable international standards (ASTM, EN, ISO) using calibrated equipment maintained to current certification.

QA/QC review

Results are reviewed against acceptance criteria and checked for consistency before being approved for issue; no result leaves the laboratory unchecked.

Results reporting

Test certificates and reports are issued in a clear, structured format suitable for contractor submittals, engineer review, and government tender documentation.

Credentials & capability

Our materials laboratory holds IQAS accreditation a mandatory requirement for laboratory participation in government tenders in Iraq and Kurdistan Region. All testing equipment carries current calibration certificates, and every test result issued by Masatha carries the legal recognition and technical credibility that accreditation provides.
